About Us
We are a fully accredited and licensed daycare located in Calgary’s northwest area.
Our center is bright, friendly, clean and smoke free facility. We have plenty of windows in each room to allow the natural light in as well as painted murals on the walls to interest the children. We are a community daycare situated beside a lovely park in a wonderful redeveloping neighborhood. Our service is specially designed for infants (12 months) to school age (6 years old). This facility is licensed for approximately 59 children and we offer a service from Monday to Friday that is designed to benefit the children in our care as well as their families. We would like to make your child’s days at Honeybee as happy and fulfilling as we can.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy at the center is to provide a loving and positive atmosphere for the children. We offer a safe environment that provides ample opportunity for experimental learning. We provide activities that enhance children’s knowledge and creativity, while ensuring that the learning process, in general, is a happy experience.
- The role of the staff is to provide positive learning experiences, guide children’s behavior, and model appropriate behavior for the children. We meet the needs of the individual by establishing programs that provide for emotional growth as well as the social, physical, and intellectual development of each child.
- The children have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities and are encouraged to initiate activities of their own. They have access to activity centers, books, games, toys, puzzles, art materials and gross motor equipment.
- Play is viewed as an important avenue for learning and also as a source of joy for children of all ages. Our scheduling allows for long periods of time in which play may develop and into which the learning experiences can be incorporated.
- The staff act as facilitators of play by interacting with the children. We establish a healthy physical environment and a wholesome emotional climate for the children.
- We welcome any involvement parents would like to offer in our program. Our goal is to provide the best quality care for the children, so that their day care experience is a fulfilling part of their development.
Our Staff
Each playroom has 2 staff members working and to add consistency and to allow bonds to be formed between the staff, parents and children, we keep the same two staff members working in each room on a daily basis.
At Honey Bee our staff members are friendly, outgoing and love working with the children. The majority of our staff members have been a part of the Honey Bee team for more than 5 years and bring lots of fun and exciting ideas and activities with them that the children really enjoy.
Every group has a staff member with Early Childhood Education (Level 3) and Child Development Assistant certificate (Level 1), as well as a valid first aid certificate. As we are providing care for young children our utmost concern is for the safety and security of all the children in our care; as a result each staff member holds a valid and current police security certificate.
